Overview
Handling Specialty designed and manufactured a 6,000 lb. capacity lift which was used by NASA in the construction of the space station Freedom (which became the International Space Station).
Used to transport workers and materials, the four-post mechanical screw lift featured an inherently self-locking drive, 100% level lifting, zero creep and mechanically synchronized motion. The lift was also fully portable and was moved by a combination of retractable wheels and precision-based levelling pads.
