Job Opportunity: Technical Project Coordinator           
Reports To: PMO Manager                          
Location: Grimsby/Hamilton Ontario

Job Summary: The Technical Project Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the successful completion of projects by coordinating activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, and managing resources. In this position you will work closely with project managers and other departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. 

This role requires a strong understanding of project management methodologies, technical expertise, and strong communication skills.

Assist the Project Managers with various aspects of project support, including:

  • Assisting in developing project plans and schedules.
  • Tracking project milestones and deadlines and identifying any potential delays.
  • Managing and coordinating project resources.
  • Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to ensure on time delivery of materials; visit vendors as required.
  • Assisting with Install preparations i.e. Site readiness visits, coordinating site access requirements.
  • Supporting Installation activities – be the Handling liaison on site during installs.
  • Preparing documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting for project-related issues.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met. 
  • Communicating project status, progress, and any issues or challenges to stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year; this includes time spent on site which may involve travel to client locations, manufacturing plants, or construction sites
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel without restrictions is required.
  • Carry a class “G” or higher drivers license with the ability to provide a Valid clear driver’s abstract within thirty (30) days of hire date
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders 
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Must have a team driven attitude, work ethic and always present themselves in a professional manner.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or advanced diploma in Engineering
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an applicable engineering field
  • Experience in manufacturing or related field is an asset

Working Conditions:

  • Position is full time at both HSML Grimsby & Hamilton plants based on location of project builds
  • Travel to job sites as required by project to support installation activities
