What is it like being a project manager?
His name is Robert Lemieux, and he joined Handling Specialty as a part-time contract project manager in November 2014. Before that, he spent most of his career in various design, manufacturing projects and management roles, working 32 years for an appliance manufacturing company within the GE Appliances group based in Montreal.
It was a good part-time opportunity when Robert joined Handling Specialty to lead the installation phase of projects. Additionally, travelling is something he really enjoys!
The first project Robert was involved with was HARMONY OF THE SEAS, to be installed in Saint-Nazaire, France. This project was then followed by two more sister ships, SYMPHONY OF THE SEAS in 2017-2018 and currently WONDER OF THE SEAS in 2020-2021. He’s also been involved in the 10-year Dry Dock projects on OASIS OF THE SEAS in 2019 and ALLURE OF THE SEAS IN 2021. Robert says he has received excellent support from the team at Handling Specialty.
By living in the Montreal area, Robert has also had the opportunity to lead the installation of a few local projects in rail with CPK at the EXO facility in Pointe St-Charles and the REM facility in St-Eustache.
Robert is currently on assignment and says he is looking forward to new and challenging projects and supporting the HANDLING team!
