What is an Automated Guided Vehicle?

An automatic guided vehicle is a portable robot that can be manufactured to any size meant to carry products or parts through an assembly line, MRO facility, or manufacturing plant. Autonomous guided vehicles may also include specialized tooling for specific applications to move these products. They can also include scissor lifts to position the product at a specific height in each work cell. AGV cars run on battery power and can be charged after their shift. Automated guide vehicles follow a predetermined path through a facility and can easily be programmed to follow a different path as a facility’s needs shift without high costs.
