It’s been just over a year since Chris Kovacs has been with Handling Specialty, and finds himself as the Parts Coordinator on the PSG team. Chris started out in the Receiving department where he had the opportunity to learn a lot about our company’s projects and the materials we use.
“During my first ten years in the steel industry,” Chris explains, “I helped form a company that is still operational after 19 years and helped build its foundation, employees, and work ethics. After that I was asked to help start a new business in Industrial Warehousing and Container packaging for export, then spent 4 years in the Carbon Black industry, followed by working on a Slitting Line for another 4 years. COVID took a turn and I found myself looking for new work, I was driving a forklift for 14 months while trying to find the right place to apply my experience.”
Chris goes on to say, “I consider myself lucky to have found Handling Specialty. The team here has made me feel comfortable and welcome. You’ve been nothing but helpful, and paired with a good sense of humor, I consider this a healthy work environment. We take our time, do things precisely and accurately, and go home safely at the end of each shift.”
