Handling Specialty’s laser and camera-assisted custom multi-axis smart-motion control system enables the heavy-duty lifting arm to accurately lift and position a jet engine Bellmouth during the assembly process before the engine goes into a test cell. The arm is designed to grasp the Bellmouth with a robot-like movement and then release once positioned.
An operator is essential in monitoring the arm’s positioning via an on-screen camera display and operator interface to ensure proper alignment and mating of the engine Bellmouth.
