Handling Specialty was featured on CHCH News to discuss our part in the new Royal Caribbean ICON ship builds and their underwater theaters. This news piece was released on July 14th on the evening news. The large-scale of the underwater stage lifts and accompanying equipment demanded that the work be done in our Hamilton, Ontario plant where the ceilings rise 110 feet allowing the massive stage lifts to have room to move. Literally.
The stage lifts that are going into the ICON ships sit under a glass dome at the front of the ship and will entertain elaborate shows both in and out of the pool. Handling Specialty has worked on several of RCCL’s ships and is currently working on the second project for the ICON class ships.
