Overview
This underwater stage lift system was designed, manufactured, and installed on Icon of the Seas. Situated within the Icon’s Aquadome neighborhood, this seven-piece, hydraulic underwater stage lift system includes two diving board tilter devices and an HPU system to run the lifts.
Handling Specialty’s engineering team worked directly with the Royal Caribbean team to ensure the equipment would perform exactly to spec.

- The Upstage lift travels 5m with a capacity of 4,400 lbs
The Centre Stage Lifts travel 4.2m with a capacity of 5,900 lbs for Centre Stage Left and Right and 12,250 lbs for center stage centre
The Downstage Lifts Travel 2.4m with a capacity of 3,800 lbs for Downstage Left and Right and 4,700 lbs for downstage center - The stage area is perforated with approximately 432,000 holes to ensure minimum displacement of water.
- Hydraulically operated with non-toxic water glycol fluid.
- Equipment can withstand an average of 10 kpa horizontal “sloshing load.”
