Overview
Handling Specialty worked collaboratively with an international transportation company to engineer and manufacture a highly specialized workstation to assist technicians with the removal of bogies from monorail cars for maintenance and repair. Previously, when the customer wanted to replace or repair the bogie, the monorail car would be taken out of service for a significant period of time, resulting in significant operational downtime and loss of revenue. The Bogie Maintenance Work Station allowed the customer to drastically reduce the amount of time needed for bogie maintenance, thus allowing the monorail to return more quickly to revenue-generating activities.
Handling Specialty applications, engineering and manufacturing teams reviewed the project specifications and equipment/process requirements in great detail, with a close focus on design elements to address items such as capacity, stability and levelness requirements, lift speed, controls, performance, reliability, safety and maintainability.
