The motorized load-leveling spreader was designed to assist rail companies in removing various lengths and weights of roofs from their rail cars. Paired with a heavy-duty crane, the leveling spreader offers ease of adjustability, allowing for less downtime on the maintenance rails. Rail spreaders encourage efficiency through well-thought-out engineering.
There can be up to 10 lifting points on a rail car roof. The 10,000 lb lifting capacity spreader beam is made of three assemblies: the long beams and the center assembly, making the unit easy to disassemble for storage purposes. Maneuvering the unit along the floor once it has completed its work is an easy task, as the spreader is outfitted with four heavy-duty casters.
As the crane lowers the beam to the rail car roof, the leveling spreader bar will adjust to the center of gravity during and after the lift with an individual radio-controlled, hand-held unit the crane operator will be in possession of.
